Find the HS code for any product.

Why it matters
Every duty rate, freight quote, and customs form starts from this code. Get it right early and the landed-cost math at the booth is real, not a guess.
2 → 4 → 6 digits
Chapter is the neighborhood, heading is the street, subheading is the house. Forwarders want 6 digits; your destination country adds the rest.
Then keep moving
Every result links onward: import demand for the category, the landed-cost calculator, and the trade shows where that product is bought and sold.
Common questions
What is an HS code?▼
The Harmonized System is the World Customs Organization's product classification used by nearly every country. The first 2 digits are the chapter, 4 digits the heading, 6 digits the subheading — the level that's standard worldwide. Countries extend it to 8–10 digits (like the US HTS or EU CN) for national tariff lines.
How many digits do I need?▼
For freight quotes and most paperwork, the 6-digit subheading is what forwarders ask for. For exact duty rates you need your destination country's 8–10 digit extension of that subheading — your customs broker or the national tariff database gives you that in minutes once you have the right 6 digits.
Is this classification legally binding?▼
No — classification is legally the importer's responsibility, and borderline products can genuinely fall under more than one code. Use this to get to the right neighborhood fast; for high-stakes shipments, confirm with your broker or request a binding ruling from the destination customs authority.
Why does the HS code matter at a trade show?▼
Duty is often the difference between a deal and a dud. Knowing the code before you talk to a booth means you can estimate landed cost on the spot instead of discovering a 12% tariff after the samples ship. Our Landed Cost calculator takes it from there.
