First-timer's guide · Sep 8–12, 2026 · Messe Frankfurt

Working Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 for the first time.

4,200 exhibitors, 108,000 attendees, and a rhythm you only learn by working it. Here's what matters — for the booth side and the buying side — plus the Frankfurt am Main logistics nobody puts in the brochure.

If you're exhibiting

New exhibitor tips

01

German advance ordering is a discipline

Messe Frankfurt services (electrics, rigging, furniture) carry serious early-order discounts and late-order penalties. Lock services the moment the exhibitor shop opens.

02

Technical literature wins here

Buyers are workshop chains, wholesalers, and OEM engineers. Spec sheets, compatibility tables, and certifications matter more than lifestyle branding.

03

Plan for a marathon, not a sprint

The show runs longer than US fairs and the campus is vast. Rotate staff, schedule real breaks, and keep capture discipline through day four — the tail days bring serious international buyers doing final rounds.

New visitor tips

01

Preregister and price the travel early

Frankfurt hotel rates during Messe weeks are notorious — book the moment you commit, or stay in Offenbach/Mainz on the S-Bahn.

02

Plan halls by product group

The fair maps cleanly to product categories across many halls. Build a hall-by-day route; the inter-hall walkways are long enough that backtracking wrecks schedules.

03

Bring the technical questions

Suppliers staff engineers here. Fitment data, homologation, warranty terms, delivery programs — ask at the booth and capture the answers; this show rewards prepared buyers.

How the days flow

  • —Days 1–2: international wholesale decision-makers; prime appointment days.
  • —Middle days: workshop and trade audiences; demos draw the crowds.
  • —Final day: lighter traffic, best for competitor analysis and relaxed supplier conversations.

Frankfurt am Main logistics

Getting there

Messe Frankfurt. S-Bahn to Messe station lands inside the fairgrounds; from the airport it's ~15 minutes by S-Bahn to the city. Trams 16/17 serve other gates.

Hotels

City-center rates triple; the S-Bahn corridor (Offenbach, Mainz, even Darmstadt) saves real money for a 20-minute ride.

Cash & customs

Cards work everywhere; if you're importing samples onward, keep invoices handy — German customs paperwork at departure is stricter than arrival.

The tip every guide agrees on

Capture at the booth. Never "the stack for later."

Whichever side of the aisle you work at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, DaGaMa turns photos of cards, badges, and products into a structured Google Sheet you own — in WhatsApp, Telegram, or WeChat. Free for your first 24 hours.
