Working Canton Fair 2026 for the first time.

26,000 exhibitors, 250,000 attendees, and a rhythm you only learn by working it. Here's what matters — for the booth side and the buying side — plus the Guangzhou logistics nobody puts in the brochure.

If you're exhibiting

New exhibitor tips

01

Phases are absolute

The Canton Fair runs in phases by product category — exhibiting in the wrong phase means your buyers are in Guangzhou a week before or after you. Triple-check which phase your category belongs to before any booking.

02

Bring a Mandarin-capable teammate or hire one

Serious volume buyers come from everywhere, but hall logistics, officialdom, and neighbor relationships run smoother with Chinese language capability at the booth.

03

Print bilingual everything

Cards and catalogs in English + Chinese. QR codes on everything — WeChat is the business card here.

New visitor tips

01

Sort your invitation and visa early

Most nationalities need a visa, and the fair's invitation letter smooths both the visa and first entry. Start the paperwork a month out; the buyer badge is then typically free.

02

WeChat is mandatory infrastructure

Suppliers quote, negotiate, and follow up on WeChat. Set it up (and WeChat Pay if you can) before you land; a business account name matching your card builds instant credibility.

03

The complex is the world's largest — plan like it

Over a million square metres in Pazhou. Pick target halls per day, capture every supplier at the booth (photo of product + card + price talk), and never rely on remembering — by afternoon it's all one blur of booths.

04

Negotiate in ranges, verify later

Booth prices are opening positions. Collect specs and quotes broadly, then verify exporters' credentials and re-negotiate with the top three from home — this is where captured, structured data pays.

05

Watch the "same factory" illusion

Multiple booths sometimes front the same factory through different trading companies. Ask directly: factory or trading company? Both are fine — but the price structure differs.

How the days flow

  • —Days 1–2 of each phase: full halls, best supplier attention spans in the morning.
  • —Middle days: appointment follow-ups; catalog capture missions through secondary halls.
  • —Final day of each phase: booths begin packing after lunch — morning-only value, plus samples become negotiable.

Guangzhou logistics

Getting there

China Import and Export Fair Complex, Pazhou, Guangzhou. Metro Line 8 to Xingang Dong/Pazhou stations delivers you to the halls; taxis at closing are a long queue — the metro wins.

Hotels

Zhujiang New Town balances price, food, and a short metro ride. Pazhou-adjacent hotels triple their rates during the fair.

Connectivity

Your usual apps may be limited — arrange an eSIM with roaming or a VPN before travel, and download offline maps and a translator.

The tip every guide agrees on

Capture at the booth. Never "the stack for later."
