First-timer's guide · Aug 10–12, 2026 · Las Vegas Convention Center

Working MAGIC Las Vegas 2026 for the first time.

2,000 exhibitors, 60,000 attendees, and a rhythm you only learn by working it. Here's what matters — for the booth side and the buying side — plus the Las Vegas, NV logistics nobody puts in the brochure.

New exhibitor tips

01

Know which show-within-the-show you're in

MAGIC week is really several co-located fairs (MAGIC, PROJECT, Sourcing at MAGIC). Your neighbors define your buyer mix — confirm which hall and which brand community your booth sits in before signing.

02

Vegas distances eat staff time

The campus is enormous. Plan staffing so nobody "quickly runs" anywhere — a badge pickup or forgotten cable costs forty-five minutes round trip.

03

Drayage is the budget ambush

Las Vegas marshalling yards and material handling fees surprise every first-timer. Consolidate freight, ship to the advance warehouse, and weigh everything — drayage bills by the hundredweight.

04

Book buyer appointments before the show

Serious wholesale buyers arrive with day-level schedules. Cold aisle traffic still converts, but the biggest orders at MAGIC are pre-booked weeks out.

05

Capture fast, qualify later

Traffic comes in waves after keynotes and lunch. In the surge, scan-and-voice-note everyone; sort hot from cold in the evening, not at the booth.

New visitor tips

01

One badge, several shows

Your registration typically covers the co-located fairs — plan all of them as one trip. Sourcing at MAGIC (manufacturers) and the brand shows (finished lines) answer different questions; know which you're there for each day.

02

Comfortable shoes are not a joke here

You will walk further than at any other US show. Plan halls by day, not by whim.

03

Ask sourcing booths the full spec list

MOQ, price breaks, lead time, tooling ownership, certifications, Incoterm, sample cost, HS code. The suppliers flying in from Asia expect professional buyers — asking sharp questions gets sharper prices.

04

Samples: decide the shipping plan first

Between sample pickups and catalogs you'll accumulate kilos. Decide upfront: courier account, the show's shipping desk, or an extra suitcase — deciding at the airport is the expensive option.

How the days flow

  • —Day 1: badge lines longest at opening — arrive 45 minutes early or at 10:30 after the surge.
  • —Day 2: appointment prime time; evening events are where relationships actually form.
  • —Day 3: best negotiating day at sourcing booths — suppliers would rather cut a deal than ship samples home.

Las Vegas, NV logistics

Getting there

Las Vegas Convention Center, Paradise Rd. The Monorail (Westgate/LVCC stations) beats rideshare during peak hours; the Loop connects halls underground. Rideshare pickup zones move during shows — check signage.

Hotels

Westgate and Renaissance are walkable. Strip hotels are cheap midweek but add commute; surge pricing hits Sunday–Tuesday of show week.

Timing

August in Vegas is 40°C+ outside — schedule any outdoor movement early, and never leave samples in a car.

The tip every guide agrees on

Capture at the booth. Never "the stack for later."
